The permanent collection is amazing. The trails are gentle and relaxing. Free admission is wonderful, so long as it lasts. When we went we saw Arnold S. there, which was an incredible surprise.
Such a great place! The main exhibit is free year round not. I believe they are closed on Tuesdays. The restaurant is not half bad and the dining space and chamber music building or both great places for special events. The New Year's Eve celebration was off the hook as I would imagine any was off the hook as I would imagine any large-scale event at this venue. The special exhibits cost around 10 bucks and are well worth the price of admission... and are changing every few months
The restaurant is expensive ($12 burger and no adult food under $11) but it tastes awesome.
The store is incredibly expensive. This is most likely how they recoup some of their losses since general admission is free.
Went here when I visited a best friend in Arkansas. It was a spur of the moment trip and we all three loved it very much. High arcing roofs of wood with many quiet well lit studios filled with gorgeous art pieces from each major era. A very lovely location in a place not many outsiders consider for its attractions.
Can't beat free for an art museum. Only the road shows cost. The people always seems fairly pleasant and the "guards" are polite and some really try to interact with people. It's good to go more than once so you can spend more time with different pieces; especially if your mood changes each visit. There's plenty of natural beauty outside along the trails as well. You can eat on site at the café and get good coffee, just expect to pay restaurant prices, not fast food.
It's a wonderful place if you just enjoy the free stuff.
This museum is amazing, the buildings themselves a work of art. Being able to see a real Maxfield Parrish, and Frank W. Benson, beautiful. All of the art is breathtaking, the different vistas seen from the crystal bridges included. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the restaurant delicious and wonders of wonders, it's free! With the exception of certain special exhibits and of course your dining experience, there's no charge. Go experience this one of a kind wonder!
